As we approach the end of another transfer window this particular summer has been less frantic than 12 months ago.

There has been less money spent by Premier League clubs to the tune of around £1bn, with club owners now more concerned than ever about regulatory compliance. It is a topic we covered earlier this month on the Bottom Line.

But with less confidence in the transfer market should that be instructive in terms of what the future holds for Premier League investment, particularly from North America? Are the boom years coming to an end? Have valuations peaked? Is it still an enticing investment for those in the US?

This week’s edition sees the Bottom Line joined by US football investor Jordan Gardner, a former owner of Danish side FC Helsingor, and investor in clubs including Dundalk and Swansea City. He presently serves as an advisor with sports intelligence firm TwentyFirst Group, helping others negotiate the football investment market.

So, what might the future hold? Well, before we go any deeper it is the perfect time to remind you that this is the LAST CHANCE to take advantage of our Deadline Day offer of 75% off annual subscriptions to the Bottom Line. You can get access to exclusive interviews, and analysis on what happens away from the pitch that has such a huge impact on what happens on it.
